Daly laughs off speculation

Daly laughs off speculation

In-form Jon Daly has played down recent rumours of interest from West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic.

The Dublin-born striker has scored fourteen times this season, including in the late weekend defeat to Aberdeen, but wasn't taking the latest specualtion especially seriously

"I`ve been in the game long enough to know there`s always stuff like this, just rumours," Daly told the Daily Record. "But it`s always nice to be linked with clubs like that. You must be doing something right.

"The boys had a bit of banter about it. Willo Flood gives me a bit - but I give him as much as I get, " he added. "I think it`s the most I`ve scored in a season for the club. Playing with Johnny Russell, Paul Dixon and Gary Mackay-Steven, I know I`m always going to get chances."

Striker Scott McDonald scored a vital late winner to keep Dundee United firmly setting the pace at the top of the Championship.

The Tangerines included Scott Fraser for the suspended Paul McMullan and his curled effort after moving inside was denied by goalkeeper Graeme Smith.

Both James Keatings and McDonald also threatened for hosts seeking a third consecutive league victory having previously accounted for Inverness CT and Queen of the South.

The visitors were then close
