Result flattered us - Houston

Five goals rather flattered Dundee United according to their forthright manager Peter Houston.

The Tangerines completed an emphatic 5-1 triumph against St Johnstone in the Tayside derby but were aided by a couple of own goals before Johnny Russell, Jon Daly and latest signing Milos Lacny each netted during the later stages.

"I'm delighted, we haven't played at our best and won 5-1 away from home," Houston admitted to BBC Scotland. "It's a mark of a good team if you don't play particularly great and come away with a result like that."

The visitors went into the game on the back of a really excellent 2-0 victory at Rangers in the Scottish Cup six days earlier - which was a far better display according to Houston.

"I've got to be honest and say we were miles better than that last week," he added. "If you look at Paul Dixon's assists, three assists with the quality of the ball, and the quality of the headers from Johnny Russell and Jon Daly was absolutely magnificent. I don't think 5-1 was a fair reflection but we'll take it."
