United winger scoops award

Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven has been named as Clydesdale Bank young player of the month for February.

The 21-year-old has proved an excellent acquisition for the Tangerines since joining them from Airdrie United last summer.

He was rewarded for his efforts earlier in the week with a debut for the Scotland Under-21 side in their 0-0 draw with Holland.

Mackay-Steven previously had a couple of years at Liverpool before eventually joining Airdrie and has netted three times in 25 appearances for the Tayside club this season.
