Better news for striker

Dundee United have discovered the injury to striker Milos Lacny is not as serious as first thought.

The Slovakian underwent surgery at the weekend and while cruciate ligament damage was located, his cartilage fortunately remained intact.

Signed on loan from Sparta Prague in January, Lacny is still ruled out for the rest of the season and facing months of rehabilitation.

"The operation went well and the good news is that the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been," manager Peter Houston told the Dundee Courier. "When they opened up his knee, they discovered that it was only the cruciate ligament which was damaged.

"You often find that the cartilage is torn as well but that wasn't the case for Milos," he added. "So that is good for the boy, although he still faces a lot of hard work to get back again."
