'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Race continues at Dons

The race for a European place continues as Dundee United visit Scottish Cup semi-finalists Aberdeen this weekend.

The Tangerines are only currently holding onto fourth place in the table courtesy of their better goal-difference over local rivals St Johnstone.

Defender Keith Watson could return for the visitors after resuming training but on loan striker Milos Lacny is ruled out for the rest of the campaign following knee surgery.

"Aberdeen have beaten us twice already this season so nobody needs to tell us how dangerous they are," manager Peter Houston admitted to BBC Scotland. "They have a great management team and have cup semi-final places to play for so they will be up for it.

"We have won six in a row and are desperate to make it seven but we know we'll have to be at our best," he added.

The Dons currently have doubts over both Russell Anderson and Rory Fallon, while Fraser Fyvie and Isaac Osbourne are still unavailable following recent injuries despite training again.

Otherwise, Fraser Fyvie and Isaac Osbourne remain sidelined for the ninth-placed hosts.
