Ryan ready and waiting

Striker Ryan Dow is keenly waiting for elevation into the senior side and the opportunity to help lift Dundee United back into Europe.

Manager Peter Houston has already implied that he intends using most of his available resources over the final games - which start with a crucial trip to St Johnstone at the end of next week.

"I have been patient, as have a few of the other lads, but hopefully I can get a chance to show what I can do sooner rather than later," Dow explained to the Dundee Courier. "There is a group of us waiting for a chance — myself, Richie Ryan, Barry Douglas and Keith Watson to name but a few.

"Everyone has been doing well in training but have missed out because the team had been on such a great run. But we will need everyone to help out in the weeks ahead," he continued. "The whole squad will probably be called upon at some stage. So it is a waiting game and when you get your chance you have to take it."
