European hopes still strong for Daly

European hopes still strong for Daly

Dundee United striker Jon Daly believes his side can still earn a top-three finish in the SPL this season.

The Tangerines currently occupy fifth place but could yet rise as high as third in the table by the end of their campaign. And with Rangers' European participation for next season in some doubt, it could even earn them an unlikely Champions League qualifying spot.

"The chance of playing in a Champions League qualifier or even going to the Champions League, that's just something that doesn't happen at Dundee United," Daly told BBC Scotland. "At the moment we're focussed on the Europa League and trying to get into that.

"We play Motherwell in the last game of the season so if it came to a shoot-out for the Champions League, that'd be great," he added.
