Tangerines reject £1m offers

Tangerines reject £1m offers

Dundee United have rejected a couple of offers exceeding £1m from English clubs for two of their leading players.

While the Tangerines weren't prepared to identify the targets, it's safe to assume that forwards Johnny Russell and Gary Mackay-Steven, together with defender Gavin Gunning, would be appearing on the lists of many clubs.

However, former Airdrie United winger Mackay-Steven is under contract at Tannadice until 2015 while both Russell and ex-Blackburn Rovers centre-back Gunning have only twelve months less remaining.

Meanwhile, Slovakian goalkeeper Dusan Pernis, defenders Gary Kenneth and Paul Dixon, and midfielder Scott Robertson have all reached the end of their current deals and are intent on leaving the club.

But fellow schemer John Rankin has already agreed another twelve months ahead of their European campaign next season.
