Houston opens talks

Houston opens talks

Manager Peter Houston is discussing a new contract after successfully leading Dundee United back into Europe next season.

Houston has been in charge since replacing Craig Levein at Tannadice in December 2009 and chairman Stephen Thompson naturally wants his future resolved sooner rather than later.

He memorably helped them to their glorious Scottish Cup triumph the following year and managed top-four finishes in the table in each of his three seasons in charge.

The Scotland assistant-manager is the current longest-serving boss in the SPL and told the Daily Record: "My contract is up next season. We`ve had tentative talks and there will be more at some stage."
