Dixon goes to Town

Highly-rated Dundee United full-back Paul Dixon is joining English Championship newcomers Huddersfield Town on a three-year deal.

The 25-year-old defender made 44 appearances for the Tangerines last season as they secured fourth place in the table and another European campaign.

Dixon arrives at Huddersfield on a free transfer and officially moves on 1st July when his current contract expires. Manager Simon Grayson was forced to fend off interest from a number of Championship rivals to finally get his man.

"It's always been an aspiration of mine to test myself in England and I believe that the Championship, with Huddersfield Town is the next step on the ladder," Dixon told Huddersfield's official website. "I think it's a step up from football in Scotland and I believe it is the next logical step for my career."
