Gardyne ready to step up

New signing Michael Gardyne is ready to play anywhere for Dundee United after arriving at the club over the summer.

The 26-year-old ex-Celtic midfielder has been brought in from Ross County following him originally agreeing a pre-contract with the Tangerines back in January.

He made his debut in their early season work-out at Rapid Vienna last week and is determined to firmly make his mark at Tannadice in whatever role is offered to him.

"I can play left, right or centre or even up front. Hopefully that will be good for me that I can play a few positions," Gardyne told the Daily Record. "I'm 26 now and have been in the First Division for the past four years.

"Obviously I took a step down when I left Celtic so to get back into the SPL is massive for my career and I just want to push on and take advantage of it," he added. "I've found it really easy to settle in at the club. The lads are great and the way the manager wants to play the game suits me."
