'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Houston can't praise enough

Manager Peter Houston praised his side following their opening day victory against Hibernian.

Goals from Johnny Russell, skipper Jon Daly and debutant Michael Gardyne proved enough for a comfortable 3-0 triumph at Tannadice.

"I am delighted with that," Houston told the Dundee Courier. "It was a good, professional performance and they proved their fitness levels.

"We started the game on fire and scored a goal then could have had a penalty," he added. "We missed some glorious chances and the game could have been won before it was but I can't praise the players enough."

The win should certainly leave United in good heart for their trip to Russia later this week in the Europa League return against Dynamo Moscow.
