Winger on the rise

Winger Ryan Dow has been encouraged to press his own claims for a regular place in the side.

The 21-year-old impressed in his first start of the season against Ross County at the weekend after coming in for the injured Gary Mackay-Steven.

He is already highly-regarded by manager Peter Houston, who believes Dow to have a promising future after watching him move through the youth ranks at the club.

"The challenge to Ryan over this next number of games if he is in the team is to make sure that he gets consistency," Houston told the
Dundee Courier. "I thought he did well against Ross County but I've seen him better.

"Let's see how consistent he can be," he continued. "He's got the ability, he's got pace and he's a good finisher as well. I've got high hopes for Ryan Dow for the future but I've been saying that for the last year."
