Tangerines on a high after midweek win

Dundee United make the journey to the Highlands as they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle this weekend.

Skipper Jon Daly returned for the midweek Scottish Communities League Cup win at Queen of the South and may continue leading their attack.

Fellow forward Gary Mackay-Steven is still absent following recent knee surgery. But defender Brian McLean should recover from a slight knock.

"I have watched Inverness a couple of times this season live and I maintain they are a decent side," manager Peter Houston told the Dundee Courier. "You never get it easy against them and I am not expecting that to be any different this time.

"Even Celtic and Rangers have found out in the past how hard it is to actually go up there and win," he added.

Caley are actually still looking for their first league win of the season and only scraped past Stenhousemuir on penalties in midweek.

Midfielder Owain Tudur Jones is definitely missing as he completes a three-match ban while Shane Sutherland and Nick Ross are both facing a spell on the sidelines.
