Midfielder looking upwards for United

Dundee United midfielder Stuart Armstrong aims to dispel the recent gloom around Tannadice with a victory against Aberdeen this weekend.

The Tangerines have recently sunk towards the bottom of the table after a bright start and are without a league victory since August.

The arrival of the Dons will finally mark a return to action following a three-week absence due to United's recent game at Motherwell being postponed because of a power cut.

"Everyone thinks it's a bit doom and gloom just now but if we win our two games in hand we can go to third in the table," Armstrong told stv.tv. "We just need to calm down a bit and see what happens.

"It's been a bit of bad fortune and just not playing to the team's potential but we've been working hard in training and I think we'll be back up to our level again this weekend."
