Simple approach way forward for United

Simple approach way forward for United

Dundee United manager Peter Houston says his side will return to basics against Aberdeen this weekend.

The Tangerines go into the contest on a current sequence of five league games without a victory and after failing to score in the last four.

Not since they defeated city rivals Dundee 3-0 at Tannadice on 19th August, have struggling United taken maximum league points.

"We've stripped it all back and went back to basics," Houston told stv.tv. "I know on our day, I've said it many, many times, if we are at our strongest, we can beat anybody in the league.

"That's what we aim to do. Get back to basics, defend properly, improve on the five clean sheets we've got already and try and turn away the chances we've created. Which we haven't done."
