'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Defender agrees new deal

Defender Sean Dillon has signed a new deal with Dundee United which will keep him at Tannadice until at least May 2015.

The 29-year-old originally joined the club when arriving from Shelbourne five years ago and has since completed more than two hundred senior appearances.

He won a Scottish Cup winners' medal with the Taysiders in 2010 and has regularly appeared in both central defence and at full-back.

"His versatility is also a great option to have although over the last few years he has cemented his place in central defence," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "It is so important that we have experienced players in the team alongside the developing youngsters and Sean's experience is as vital as his excellent footballing ability."
