Houston pleased at response
Dundee United chief Peter Houston praised the display of his side as they crushed second division Stranraer 5-0 in the Scottish Cup fourth round.
Striker Johnny Russell helped himself to a hat-trick at Stair Park while skipper Jon Daly added two more.
"We could have scored a lot more," Houston told BBC Scotland. "Their defenders did as well as they could but they are playing against Russell who is sharp and Daly who is experienced and a handful."
Free-scoring Russell took his own tally for the season to eleven as the visitors avoided their recent habit of conceding early.
"I thought we started in the right manner. None more so than Willo Flood getting a grip of the game along with John Rankin in the middle of the park," continued Houston. "Then, Johnny Russell is a talent and you saw that again. He is sharp round about the box and it is five goals for the strikers, which is pleasing."
