Houston determined to sort out home form

Dundee United boss Peter Houston is aiming to hoist his side well into the top half of the table over the next few weeks.

The Tangerines have already won twice as many league games away from home at present and Houston hopes this weekend's visit of second-placed Inverness Caledonian Thistle can help launch a successful run in front of their own supporters.

"Our away form is excellent so it would be nice to put together a run at home which would bump us up the table a bit," he told the Dundee Courier. "We always say that winning at home and taking something away from home is the norm. But if you look at the SPL in general most teams are playing better away from home.

"We want to cut out having to chase games at Tannadice, as has been the case in the past few weeks, and make sure that we give ourselves a chance," Houston added. "There's nothing better to win over the United punters than doing well in these few home games over the Christmas period."
