Tangerines seek capital gains
Dundee United are not in action until Sunday afternoon when travelling to Tynecastle to meet Hearts (kick-off 4.30pm).
Defender Sean Dillon is once again a doubt after missing the last three games due to a thigh problem. Winger Gary Mackay-Steven is still unavailable having recently broken his hand against Ross County.
The Tangerines are currently in mid-table and three points outside the top four but still a couple of points clear of their latest hosts.
"I'm obviously hoping our players rise to the occasion," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "It's around about the turn of the year that we usually have a good run, but hopefully it starts a wee bit earlier. We're actually in a better position points-wise than what we were this time last year."
Hearts were expecting Darren Barr, Jason Holt, Arvydas Novikovas and Mehdi Taouil to recover from recent knocks while Scott Robinson is also available. On the downside Jamie Hamill and Danny Grainger remain sidelined.
