Chairman hopeful over Houston

Chairman hopeful over Houston

Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson was remaining positive following productive talks with manager Peter Houston's agent earlier this week.

Discussions remain ongoing regarding the future of Houston, who famously won the Scottish Cup for the club with a 3-0 victory over Ross County in May 2010.

He has also achieved real consistency in the league with three top-four finishes since replacing Craig Levein in the role back in December 2009.

"I met his agent this week and we had a good discussion and now it is back to them to come back to me and talks are ongoing in regards to the manager`s position," Thompson told stv.tv. "I'm really pleased with what's happened in the last few years under Peter and we'd like him to stay."
