Tangerines could turn to McInnes

Tangerines could turn to McInnes

Dundee United could turn to former Bristol City boss Derek McInnes should Peter Houston decide on filling the vacancy at Blackpool.

Houston is currently in discussions with Blackpool after being given permission to enter into talks by the Taysiders. The Seasiders are seeking a replacement for Michael Appleton following his departure to Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile, ex-St Johnstone boss McInnes parted company with Bristol City immediately following their heavy weekend defeat to Leicester City. He has since been replaced by former Nottingham Forest and Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll, who ironically is believed to have already turned down Blackpool.

The Robins' 4-0 thrashing by visitors Leicester left them currently bottom of the Championship and six points away from safety.
