Decision due at Tannadice

Decision due at Tannadice

Dundee United have announced a press conference scheduled for Thursday as a result of the continuing uncertainty over manager Peter Houston's future.

Houston was recently allowed permission to speak to Blackpool regarding their managerial vacancy at Bloomfield Road. However, the Seasiders have since denied any approach for the 54-year-old while stating there are already several other names in the frame for their role.

Both Houston and United chairman Stephen Thompson are set to attend the press conference following talks earlier this week between the pair. Houston's existing contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

"I haven't applied for any jobs," Houston told the Daily Record. "We were still in negotiations over a new deal for me and my staff. Mr Thompson and myself's working relationship recently has been fine."
