Tangerines blunt Blades bid

Dundee United have rejected an offer from Sheffield United for striker Johnny Russell.

The Blades' modest bid was understood to be around 400,000 but still well below the current valuation of the SPL side.

Fellow Championship outfit Burnley have also been linked with a possible move ahead of the close of the transfer deadline on Thursday evening.

Russell, 22, has already scored fourteen times for United this season.
