Newcomer could earn debut
After confirming their Scottish Cup semi-final place at the expense of their city rivals last week, Dundee United next travel to St Mirren in the league on Saturday.
Former Livingston and Kilmarnock striker Rory Boulding could make an immediate debut after arriving on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
That's because leading goalscorer Johnny Russell has already been ruled out for around six weeks with a broken leg. But Swedish newcomer Marcus Tornstrand is pushing for inclusion in defence as Gavin Gunning (knee) remains sidelined.
The Buddies are without defender Lee Mair due to a stomach injury while Gary Teale continues to recover from an abductor problem. But Steven Thompson could return after overcoming a groin injury.
