Daly doubtful for Dundee derby
Dundee United skipper Jon Daly appears set to miss the weekend derby with Dundee at Tannadice.
The 30-year-old Irishman is still struggling with the groin injury picked up against the Dark Blues in the Scottish Cup earlier this month.
The Tangerines are already without suspended duo Willo Flood and John Rankin, as well as longer-term casualties Gavin Gunning and Johnny Russell, although centre-back Brian McLean could recover in time from a hamstring injury.
"At the moment, it is not looking too good squad-wise," manager Jackie McNamara admitted to the Dundee Courier. "Jon is more doubtful than Brian. It is his groin, while Brian`s injury was a tweak of the hamstring.
"We seem to be getting hit by injuries in certain areas of the team and we are looking to guys to do a job when they have not had a lot of football," he continued. "I always look on the positive side of things and this is a chance for players to go and show me that they deserve a place in the team."
