Midfielder may require surgery
Dundee United midfielder John Rankin is doubtful for this weekend's game at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The 29-year-old could require surgery following a recent scan on his knee and is considered only 50/50 to face Caley on Saturday.
"John Rankin has had a scan on his knee and he will see a specialist to see if any work is needing done," manager Jackie McNamara told The Courier. "He has felt it for most of the season but he played through it, like a number of the boys have done with injuries.
"We will see what happens in the next few days as regards his chances of playing," he added. "I just hope the boys can get a good rehab and be ready for pre-season which is the important thing."
