United make offer to teenager

United make offer to teenager

Dundee United have confirmed an offer to Queen's Park teenager Aidan Connolly.

Seventeen-year-old Connolly is the son of former United striker Paddy, who spent a decade at the club and played in their Scottish Cup final defeat to Motherwell.

The Hampden side had hoped to keep hold of the youngster after an impressive first season with them but he now appears set for a move and the Tangerines are currently leading the chase.

"He is a player we like and we have made him an offer. He is away to speak to his dad and we are now waiting to hear from him," United boss Jackie McNamara told the Dundee Courier. "But there are other clubs interested in signing him, including ones in England, so we will have to wait and see."
