Still time for Celtic says chairman

Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson says there is still time for Celtic to make a late move for Johnny Russell.

The 23-year-old is due to take a medical with Derby County on Monday following the two clubs agreeing a deal in the region of £750,000.

However, the SPL champions continue to be strongly linked with the scorer of twenty goals last term despite still no recent bid from them.

"I don't know if this is all just speculation coming from the west," commented Thompson in The Scotland Herald. "But no other offers have come in.

"However, we have seen it before when someone is going somewhere for a medical and then there is an about turn and they go somewhere else," he continued. "Until it happens it is not complete."
