Rams complete striker raid

Derby County have confirmed the signing of Dundee United striker Johnny Russell.

The 23-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Rams for a fee of in the region of £750,000.

Russell scored twenty goals for United last season despite sitting out two months of the campaign with a broken fibula.

"We're delighted to sign Johnny and his goalscoring exploits north of the border are something we've been aware of for some time," manager Nigel Clough told Derby's official website. "He's been prolific in the last few years and from what we've seen of him we believe he can transfer that form to the Championship."

Glasgow-born Russell accumulated 46 goals in 120 appearances for the Tangerines since making his debut six years ago.
