Tangerines still wait on striker

Dundee United are being forced to wait in their bid to bring former striker David Goodwillie back to Tannadice.

The Tangerines are keen to re-sign the 24-year-old on loan from Blackburn Rovers having recently lost the services of both Johnny Russell and Jon Daly.

However, the 2.8m signing from United a couple of years ago instead returned to training with the English Championship side yesterday.

Blackburn were in turn expected to wait for any further enquires before deciding whether a return to Tayside would occur.
