United chase former Rangers pair

Dundee United are keen on signing former Rangers pair Danny Wilson and Kris Boyd.

Ex-Liverpool centre-back Wilson, 21, has seen a potential move to Hearts collapse due to them recently falling into administration. The Scottish international was expected to make the deal permanent after being on loan at Tynecastle last season.

Meanwhile, striker Boyd is another target for United manager Jackie McNamara following his short-term deal with Kilmarnock last term. The 29-year-old scored three times in nine appearances during his second spell at Rugby Park.

Prior to that Boyd served MLS side Portland Timbers, Turkish Super League club Eskisehirspor, Nottingham Forest (loan) and Middlesbrough, in addition to his prolific record-breaking spell at Ibrox; while also scoring seven times in eighteen games for Scotland at full international level.
