Trialists at United

Dundee United are handing a pre-season trial to former Portsmouth striker Nadir Ciftci.

The 21-year-old was previously called up by then Turkey boss Guus Hiddink to face his nation of birth Holland in November 2010. But he eventually missed out on an appearance due to a mix-up over his passport. Ciftci has also had spells with Kayserispor and NAC Breda.

Other trialists at United include Irish left-back Graham Carey following his departure from St Mirren, together with former Tottenham Hotspur youth duo, centre-back Calum Butcher, 22, and forward Kudus Oyenuga, 20, who have both recently being turning out for Hayes & Yeading United in the Conference.

The Tangerines are also understood to be considering former Derby County, Nottingham Forest and nine-times capped Northern Ireland goalkeeper Lee Camp.
