Defender earns praise

Defender earns praise

Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara has applauded the consistency of young defender Andrew Robertson.

The nineteen-year-old full-back only arrived from Queen's Park over the summer but McNamara is absolutely delighted at the manner in which he has settled.

"Andrew has been so consistent in the six games he has started. I think you could see even in pre-season that he wasn't one for the future, but one for right now," he told the Dundee Courier. "It is great and hopefully he can continue to gain confidence and keep progressing.

"I didn't expect him to be as consistent as he has been, to be honest," McNamara continued. "He is very focused, though. I think even the lads in the squad were surprised by how he just took everything in his stride."
