'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Memorable week for teenager

Dundee United midfielder Ryan Gauld described it as a week he will long remember after receiving his first call-up for the Scotland Under-21 squad.

The seventeen-year-old also signed a new deal keeping him at Tannadice until 2016 and then scored twice for the visitors during a convincing 4-0 victory at Motherwell.

"I signed a new contract, got the call-up and then scored two goals on Saturday. It's been a great week for me and one that I will definitely remember," Gauld told the Dundee Courier. "I wasn't expecting the call-up. I heard the squad was getting announced and saw my name was in it so I was delighted.

"It's a great experience, I'm only 17 and I want to enjoy it," he continued. "I feel like I've prepared well and hopefully, if I do get a chance, I can take it."
