Tangerines seek to extend run

Six straight wins have helped propel in-form Dundee United into second place in the table ahead of their Boxing Day visit to St Mirren.

The visitors are hopeful winger Gary Mackay-Steven - who scored their winner against Ross County last time out - overcomes a slight knock in time to feature in Paisley.

Meanwhile, full-back Keith Watson was also hopeful of making the squad having missed out at the weekend.

"We will have every respect for St Mirren," manager Jackie McNamrara told BBC Scotland. "They like to get the ball down and play like ourselves so it should be open in that respect.

'We're on a good run of form right now but we know what St Mirren are capable of on their day," he added. "We'll need to be wary of them and we will be because our aim is to keep this run going."

The Buddies are lacking Gary Teale and David Barron as they bid to recover from a couple of straight defeats.
