United face coin probe

United face coin probe

Dundee United could face trouble following allegations of coin throwing from a home supporter during the weekend game with Hibernian.

The assistant referee at the game is being reported as having handed an object to police while running the line at Tanndice.

"We are awaiting a report from the SPFL Match Delegate, which we would expect to receive in the next few days," commented a spokesman for the SPFL. "We will examine that report before deciding what, if any, action to take."

The game eventually finished as a draw after the home side rallied to score twice during the final seven minutes.
