McNamara pleased at striker reward

McNamara pleased at striker reward

Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara was pleased to see striker Brian Graham being rewarded for his patience.

The 26-year-old struck a timely late equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Hibernian at the weekend. It was his fourth goal of a difficult first season in which Graham has struggled for regular inclusion since arriving from Raith Rovers last summer.

"Brian deserves a lot of credit. He's had to be patient since he came here," McNamara told the Dundee Courier. "There's obviously a bit of a step up from the lower division and that means there`s a bit more pressure to perform.

"But he showed what he's capable of when he came off the bench against Hibs on Sunday," he added. "As well as his goal, he held the ball up really well, and works very hard for the team."
