Winter break for duo

Winter break for duo

Highly-rated Dundee United youngsters Ryan Gauld and John Souttar are being given a winter break from action.

The pair will both miss the weekend visit to Ross County in favour of a revitalising holiday in the sunshine.

"It will be good for them to recharge their batteries both physically and mentally," chairman Stephen Thompson told BBC Scotland. "They are two young boys and they have hardly had a rest since being on international duty last year."

Manager Jackie McNamara is already without striker Brian Graham while Nadir Ciftci is also doubtful for the Dingwall clash.
