Dundee United's Brewster on brink

Dundee United boss Craig Brewster has admitted he does not know how secure his job is after seeing his side battered 3-1 by rivals Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The loss leaves the Arabs at the bottom of the SPL with just eight points from 11 games - and leaves Brewster with just two wins from 27 league games since taking the reins at Tannadice.

After the match, Brewster said: 'The pressure intensifies every time you do not win and, to be fair, I never thought we looked like winning today. When you go 27 games with only two wins, then you have to question everything about the club and it's not good enough.

'I have said to the players things are tough and that it is going to be tough in the First Division, because, if we keep performing like that, then that is were we are going to be playing next season.'

Brewster confessed that he doesn't know whether Arabs chairman Eddie Thompson will give him the chance to improve the club's situation.

He said: 'Who knows at the end of the day as he (Thompson) has a job to do, as do I, and we will see how long that continues.'

The outcome of 11th-placed Dunfermline's match with Hibernian on Monday (Oct 23) could determine whether the Arabs stick by Brewster or not. The Pars are currently level on points with Dundee United and are only above on goal-difference.
