Ready for the call

Ready for the call

Dundee United left-back Andrew Robertson is ready for the full international stage according to manager Jackie McNamara.

The highly-rated teenager is currently being linked with a call-up for Scotland's forthcoming friendly with Poland next month.

"Andy is ready for a Scotland call-up and, if he gets one I think he will handle it no problem," McNamara told the Dundee Courier. "He has stepped up to everything so far so I would have no doubts about him at all. Indeed, he is as good as anyone in the left-back area.

"That is a position Scotland have up for grabs because a few people have been vying for it in recent years," he added. "He has trained with Scotland before. I spoke to Gordon [Strachan] after that and he said Andy was excellent."
