McNamara praises victors

Manager Jackie McNamara believed Dundee United to be worthy victors following their 3-1 triumph at ten-man Hibernian.

Nadir Ciftci, Gavin Gunning and substitute Farid El Alagui were each on target but the visitors also missed two penalties through Ciftci and Gary Mackay-Steven.

Meanwhile, a well-beaten Hibs side replied courtesy of Jordon Forster before Tom Taiwo was later dismissed for a second yellow card.

"We were worthy winners tonight. We were excellent right throughout the team," McNamara told BBC Scotland. "I think it gave the Hibs fans a lift a couple of times with missing the penalties, but apart from that, I don't think they had much to shout about.

"We were really disappointed to go in at 1-1 at half-time," he admitted. "But it's a game we should have wrapped up well before we did."
