Fantastic says Strachan

Fantastic says Strachan

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan really admired the confidence of Dundee United's Andrew Robertson on his international debut.

The nineteen-year-old came on as a substitute for the final quarter of the 1-0 victory in Poland and saw skipper Scott Brown fire a 77th minute winner for the visitors, to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

"Andy came on there and the first time he picked it up he drove about 30 yards," Strachan commented in the Dundee Courier. "I thought: 'that's fantastic'. Absolutely no grey area, I'm going to do what I do. I loved seeing that first touch."

Robertson later posted on social network site Twitter: "Delighted to get my first cap! Thanks for all the messages means a lot! Flight home now!"
