Tangerines in cup action

Tangerines in cup action

Dundee United are in Scottish Cup quarter-final action at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday lunchtime (kick-off 12.30pm).

The Tangerines are without on loan Newcastle United centre-back Curtis Good because of a hip injury. He joins Ryan Gauld (hip) and John Souttar (Achilles) on the sidelines.

"The boys are playing well and long may that continue. Our results of late have been pretty good so we're normally confident of beating most teams when we are on our day," manager Jackie McNamara told
BBC Scotland. "Even during that not-so-good spell we never really lost that much confidence and now we're more like ourselves again.

"Inverness is obviously an important one and it's one where we'll be going to look to win the tie," he added. "It is never easy up there but we'll concentrate on ourselves as ever and hopefully come away with the right result."

Meanwhile, Caley are missing suspended midfielder Ross Draper.

But Simon Murray equalised with fourteen minutes remaining, and with extra-time appearing increasingly probable, left-back Dixon headed a dramatic second.

The Tangerines now play either Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Hamilton Academical
