Under-pressure Dundee United boss Craig Brewster has vowed to stay at Tannadice after meeting with chairman Eddie Thompson.
The Arabs are currently bottom of the SPL and lost 3-1 at Aberdeen at the weekend - leaving Brewster with just two league wins in 27 matches.
Brewster told BBC Sport: 'At the end of the day the chairman is looking for results. I can't complain as the record of two wins in 27 is not good enough, so we need to get results now. We need some wins, and quickly.'
Brewster also admitted that the chairman was 'a bit disappointed' with his comments that relegation was a distinct possibility after the loss at Pittodrie at the weekend.
He said: 'It wasn't something I didn't say to the players. At the end of the day, sometimes in this business, what you feel and what you think, you have to keep it to yourself. Maybe I was a bit naive on Saturday with my comments - but I've always been honest'
However, Brewster also stressed that no timescale has been put on the required improvements to the club's fortunes and that he is now focused on the trip to Falkirk on Saturday (Oct 28). He knows that if the Arabs can pick-up the points, they could climb-off bottom spot in the SPL and leapfrog Falkirk on goal-difference.
Meanwhile, former boss Paul Sturrock has been mentioned as a possible replacement if the Brewster gets the chop.
He told the Daily Record said: 'My heart has always been at Tannadice and I hate to see them in the position they're in. But the club would need to be in dire straits before I could come back and anyway Craig Brewster's still the manager. When I returned the last time the club were nine points adrift and I kept them up which is something I'm proud of.'
Sturrock has also been linked with the vacant post at Hibernian.
