'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Latest win reinforces belief

Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara says his side again showed they have real strength in depth following their 2-1 victory at Hearts.

The Tangerines have now won seven of their last eight games despite missing key players, this time courtesy of strikes from Brian Graham and Nadir Ciftci. That moved them within four points of second place in the table.

"We could have scored more goals tonight and made it more easier for the finish, instead of hanging on for the last few minutes," McNamara reflected to BBC Scotland. "I think that's the only criticism of our performance that we didn't take more of our chances.

"For me the belief has always been there," he added. "I've got great belief in the players. If we keep doing the same things, keep playing the same way and making chances, there's no reason why we can't have a successful season."
