Tangerines contest final place

Dundee United contest a place in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday lunchtime (kick-off 12.45pm).

The visitors should be boosted by winger Gary Mackay-Steven overcoming a virus and full-back Keith Watson recovering from a knock.

Fellow defender Curtis Good, who is currently on loan from Newcastle United, is though still missing with a hip injury as either Aberdeen or St Johnstone await in the final.

"The performance needs to be good from a good number of players," manager Jackie McNamara told BBC Scotland. "The concentration has to be spot-on and handling the occasion and not getting carried away, which is why we are trying to keep it as low key as possible.

"We are under no illusion how hard it's going to be," he continued. "The fallout from [Rangers losing in the Ramsdens Cup final] last weekend and the backlash that the players and manager have suffered has been pretty harsh, and for them it's a massive thing for them this Saturday to put things right."

Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell is out with concussion and Steve Simonsen is ready to take over. Defender Lee Wallace is another appearing certain to miss the game.
