McNamara rues disallowed goal

Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara believes Ryan Dow's disallowed goal should have stood in the 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.

The hosts were trailing 2-1 when Dow's celebrations were ended by a raised flag from the assistant referee.

Defender Sean Dillon had earlier equalised but a Scott Vernon hat-trick ultimately decided the outcome.

"Dow's goal was perfectly okay," McNamara told BBC Scotland. "We were on the ascendancy. I don't think we deserved to lose but when you make mistakes, it can be costly.

"Their goalkeeper has made three or four great saves to keep them in the match," he added. "I'm disappointed to lose but it's about concentration. I think the three goals were preventable."
