United block approach

United block approach

Dundee United have refused Blackpool permission to talk to manager Jackie McNamara.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old former Partick Thistle boss has confirmed his own commitment to the Tannadice club.

"While flattered at the interest shown, I am very happy at Dundee United," McNamara told BBC Scotland. "All of my focus is on the forthcoming Scottish Cup final and preparations for the new season ahead.

"I view the approach as a positive endorsement of all the hard work undertaken by everyone at the club in that period and have no plans to leave," he assured.

McNamara is under contract until 2017 and has so far achieved two top-six finishes and a forthcoming Scottish Cup final for the Taysiders.
