Striker keen to repay faith

Striker keen to repay faith

Turkish goalscorer Nadir Ciftci wants to repay the faith shown in him by Dundee United in their Scottish Cup final with St Johnstone.

The 22-year-old striker has netted seventeen goals in 39 games in his first season at the club following his release from Dutch outfit Breda.

"Everyone has been terrific to me, making me feel welcome and at home and hopefully I can give them something back this season," Ciftci told BBC Scotland. "Winning the cup would be the best thing to give them back.

"It has been really good for me and I have to thank all the boys and the manager, the staff and the fans for helping throughout the season," he added. "Not just football but mentally, I've been improving a lot and I thank the management staff for that."
